Bricolage Behavioral Health provides a supportive environment for children and adolescents ages 11 to 18 that enables them to achieve the best versions of themselves. Bricolage provides full day (referred to professionally as PHP) and intensive outpatient programming (IOP) that integrates the latest in science-based techniques for youth who are struggling with mental health and addiction concerns.

ABOUT BRICOLAGE

At Bricolage Behavioral Health, we use a whole-group engagement approach to treatment. Other programs in the DFW area use round-robin talk therapy, where a therapist talks to each child individually while others listen. In whole-group engagement, each child or teen actively participates in the group as they complete focus tasks, pair work, project-based assignments, and role play. The involvement of families is also an essential part of our program, as we have regular communication and family sessions during day treatment. We provide families with the tools they need to support their children after treatment has been completed.

Help Your Teen Find Healing Today!

Bricolage Behavioral Health is strength-based, skills-based, evidence-based, and medication-light. We empower your child or teen to develop the skills they need to take control of their mental health with effective, science-backed therapy.

Which Level of Care Is Right for You?

Treatment plans need to be tailored to address the specific issues that a child and his or her family are struggling with. We address the root causes of depression, anxiety, ODD, OCD, addiction, and other mental health conditions. Whether it’s a fear of failure, an inability to cope with stress, a lack of self-awareness, aggressive communication tendencies, a loss of the will to live, or another behavioral concern, we target it with focused therapeutic and skill-building techniques so your child can grow into the most successful version of themselves.

Our team of master’s-level therapists, nurses, and physicians provide the most comprehensive and effective treatment approach. Talk therapy, while helpful, is not enough. Healing is achieved through a multi-modal, evidence-based approach including physical, mental, and emotional health.

Upon intake, we will do a full biopsychosocial assessment to determine which level of care is best for your child and family, given the issues that have caused you to reach out and seek care.

Our Programs

Separate Middle and High School Groups
  • Day Treatment
(Clinically referred to as Partial Hospitalization or PHP). This level of care is most of the day 9:30am to 1:30pm. Children and teens stay enrolled with their current school with the support of our education liaison while engaging in 5 hours of therapeutic programming each day.
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
This level of care is from 9:30am to 12:30am or 5:30pm to 8:30pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. PHP clients may transition to this level of care after completing PHP, or they can enter into it directly if they need more intensive therapy.
  • Individualized Teen Therapy and Adolescent Counseling
Clients move to this level after completing the previous IOP, where they obtain additional support through weekly check-ins and refreshers.
  • Medication Management
Medication can be a helpful catalyst to therapeutic interventions. For those children and teens who will benefit, our psychiatrist provides comprehensive evaluations and follow-ups to ensure optimal outcomes.

The Bricolage Difference: How You and Your Child Benefit from Our Care

1

Your child is always engaged. Utilization of whole group engagement rather than the traditional round robin, one-by-one format found in most therapy programs where one child talks while the other 8-11 zone out. For therapy to be successful, clients must be engaged. Each of our therapists is trained in engaging group therapy delivery to build the motivation needed for lasting change.

2

Your child grows and develops the skills they need to succeed in overcoming their mental health challenges. It’s not enough to simply talk about a problem, as is common in many talk therapy approaches. Instead, we must teach our children how to emotionally regulate, effectively communicate, mitigate stress, make healthy choices, set and achieve goals, etc. See our Curriculum for more information.

3

Your child builds upon their strengths to overcome their weaknesses.
Each child has the ability to overcome their life’s challenges. No one wants to hear about what they can’t do or do wrong all the time. We show our children and teens that there is already so much that they are good at. Then we show them how to utilize their strengths to build out the areas they could improve upon.

4

You and your child direct treatment.
Some families prefer medication as part of the solution, some don’t. What works for one child or family may not work for another. We collaborate with your child and you to ensure that we’re helping you all accomplish your objectives. Of course, we’ll provide our expert experience and guidance, but your family is always in control of which outcomes are most important in treatment
