Bricolage Behavioral empowers children and teens to overcome mental health challenges in Flower Mound. We help them build the grit, resilience, and life skills necessary to thrive.

Welcome to child & adolescent counseling that empowers your child to develop grit, resilience, confidence, and the ability to overcome the root causes of their mental, behavioral, family, and educational concerns. Welcome to a program that focuses on real world skill-building over mere diagnosis. Welcome to Bricolage Behavioral Health.
Bricolage Behavioral Health provides a supportive environment for children and adolescents ages 11 to 18 that enables them to achieve the best versions of themselves. Bricolage provides full day (referred to professionally as PHP) and intensive outpatient programming (IOP) that integrates the latest in science-based techniques for youth who are struggling with mental health and addiction concerns.
At Bricolage Behavioral Health, we use a whole-group engagement approach to treatment. Other programs in the DFW area use round-robin talk therapy, where a therapist talks to each child individually while others listen. In whole-group engagement, each child or teen actively participates in the group as they complete focus tasks, pair work, project-based assignments, and role play. The involvement of families is also an essential part of our program, as we have regular communication and family sessions during day treatment. We provide families with the tools they need to support their children after treatment has been completed.

Bricolage Behavioral Health is strength-based, skills-based, evidence-based, and medication-light. We empower your child or teen to develop the skills they need to take control of their mental health with effective, science-backed therapy.
Treatment plans need to be tailored to address the specific issues that a child and his or her family are struggling with. We address the root causes of depression, anxiety, ODD, OCD, addiction, and other mental health conditions. Whether it’s a fear of failure, an inability to cope with stress, a lack of self-awareness, aggressive communication tendencies, a loss of the will to live, or another behavioral concern, we target it with focused therapeutic and skill-building techniques so your child can grow into the most successful version of themselves.
Our team of master’s-level therapists, nurses, and physicians provide the most comprehensive and effective treatment approach. Talk therapy, while helpful, is not enough. Healing is achieved through a multi-modal, evidence-based approach including physical, mental, and emotional health.
Upon intake, we will do a full biopsychosocial assessment to determine which level of care is best for your child and family, given the issues that have caused you to reach out and seek care.

We accept many commercial, in-network insurances, including the ones listed below. To learn more about your coverage, click the “verify your insurance” button or call us today to speak with our admissions team.
Your child is always engaged. Utilization of whole group engagement rather than the traditional round robin, one-by-one format found in most therapy programs where one child talks while the other 8-11 zone out. For therapy to be successful, clients must be engaged. Each of our therapists is trained in engaging group therapy delivery to build the motivation needed for lasting change.
Your child grows and develops the skills they need to succeed in overcoming their mental health challenges. It’s not enough to simply talk about a problem, as is common in many talk therapy approaches. Instead, we must teach our children how to emotionally regulate, effectively communicate, mitigate stress, make healthy choices, set and achieve goals, etc. See our Curriculum for more information.
Your child builds upon their strengths to overcome their weaknesses.
Each child has the ability to overcome their life’s challenges. No one wants to hear about what they can’t do or do wrong all the time. We show our children and teens that there is already so much that they are good at. Then we show them how to utilize their strengths to build out the areas they could improve upon.
You and your child direct treatment.
Some families prefer medication as part of the solution, some don’t. What works for one child or family may not work for another. We collaborate with your child and you to ensure that we’re helping you all accomplish your objectives. Of course, we’ll provide our expert experience and guidance, but your family is always in control of which outcomes are most important in treatment
Proudly accredited by the Joint Commission for the highest standard in patient safety and quality healthcare.

At Bricolage Behavioral Health we believe that whole family healing affords your child the best chance for long term mental health and can put your loved ones on the path to a healthier, happier life.
